So on Thursday, I had the brilliant plan to take Jen to go see Body Worlds at the Ontario Science Centre. It was going to be a surprise and I kept referring to taking her to go see "an exhibit." I originally wanted to blindfold her and only reveal it when we arrived at the front door, but about 45 seconds into our car ride she asked "So where are we going?" and I revealed the secret. Curse her persistence!
Also, she sent me a surprise gift for my birthday that I haven't figured out and it hasn't come in yet. I like surprises.
Still, it was really cool. I especially liked how Jen could flaunt her knowledge of bones and stuff to discern information about the body donors. I found that to be way more interesting than any of the work. I spent most of the time giggling and making inappropriate comments. I can't even remember most of the stuff I said. I thought it was interesting to see what the belly button was connected to.
At the Royal Medieval Faire, I got her a little plaster skull that we bought because it was anatomically correct and named it Murray. At the Body Worlds gift shop, I bought her a bigger skull and we originally named it Yorick, but because the model of the skull was female (apparently people who know these things can tell), it became Yorick-a, or Eureka. And maybe one day we'll see that Murray and Eureka have baby skulls. I think the next male disembodied skull we get will be named Morte. Also, I bought a heart keychain at the gift shop.
After the Science Centre, we went to Swiss Chalet for dinner. They were understaffed tonight, so the service was really slow. We both had our meals with vegetables instead of fries, but the veggies lacked flavour. Disappointing.
